Is That Church You Trust Babylon’s Daughter?
Walk into church on Sunday morning.
Stained glass, moving music, warm smiles, feel-good sermons. But behind the polished surface lurks a brutal reality: you may be sitting in Babylon’s daughter—a church that claims Christ but poisons His truth. Revelation warns: “Come out of her, My people” (Revelation 18:4).
Babylon is not just an ancient city—it is a counterfeit church system masquerading as Christianity. Her “daughters” are the churches that broke away but kept her lies. Unless you leave this deception, you risk sharing in her judgment when Christ returns.
1. Babylon: More Than a City
The name Babylon comes from Babel—confusion (Genesis 11:9). Spiritually, it means religious confusion—truth mixed with error. Revelation 17 calls her “Mystery, Babylon the Great, the Mother of Harlots.” This is not archaeology—it’s prophecy about a global church that sways nations.
2. The Mother Church
History reveals the Roman Catholic Church fits this description: robed in wealth, claiming Christ’s authority, yet persecuting dissenters and swapping God’s holy days for pagan festivals. She calls herself “the true church.” But Christ said His flock would be small, persecuted, never ruling empires until His return (Luke 12:32).
3. The Daughters
The Protestant churches broke away from Rome but carried her DNA:
- Sunday worship instead of the seventh-day Sabbath.
- Christmas and Easter instead of God’s holy days.
- Heaven and hell myths instead of the resurrection.
- “Just believe” grace instead of repentance and obedience.
Yahshua (Jesus) warned: “In vain they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men” (Matthew 15:9). Different labels, same poisoned cup.
4. Babylon’s Three Deadly Lies
- Lie #1: Heaven is your reward. The Bible says the dead sleep until the resurrection (John 3:13; Acts 2:29, 34). The true reward is to rule with Christ in His Kingdom on earth.
- Lie #2: God’s law is dead. Churches preach “grace, not law.” But Christ said not one jot would pass from the law (Matthew 5:17–18). Babylon teaches lawlessness in God’s name.
- Lie #3: Just believe and you’re saved. Modern Christianity skips repentance. Yet Christ’s first command was: “Repent, and believe the gospel” (Mark 1:15). Real faith produces obedience.
5. Why This Matters for the Kingdom
God is preparing teachers and rulers for His Kingdom. He needs overcomers, not churchgoers. Citizens of truth, not captives of tradition. If you cling to Babylon, you’re pledging loyalty to a counterfeit kingdom that Christ will soon destroy (Revelation 18:21).
Conclusion
Babylon and her daughters have deceived almost all of Christianity. But God is raising up a people who reject her lies and prepare for His Kingdom. The choice is stark: align with Babylon and fall with her—or align with Christ and reign with Him.
Come Out of Babylon!
Stop playing church. Test every doctrine against the Bible. This week, study the Sabbath, the holy days, or the truth about death. Don’t settle for tradition—obey what you find. The King is coming, and He’s calling His people out of Babylon now.
